The reference and the school of Imam al-Khalisi go back to the beginning of the twentieth century, when the Mujahid Imam Sheikh Muhammad Mahdi bin Muhammad Hussein bin Aziz al-Khalisi (Jerusalem) in the year 1330 AH / 1911 AD established a large school in the holy city of Kadhimiya, which he called the Zahraa School, in which jurisprudence and religious sciences were taught on a scientific method. Follows the principle of modernity to make a radical change in religious and jurisprudential education, and to be a religious scientific university; Scholars who combine religious sciences and modern sciences graduate from it, and today it is known as the School of Imam al-Khalisi al-Kabir, after him. The Imam al-Khalisi school also adopts a legitimate political approach based on the principle of not separating religion from politics, the principle of the independence of Islamic countries, the arbitration of Islamic law in the life of the nation, and the preservation of Iraqs Islamic and national identity.
